Joy in 2024: Timescale
After 2.5 years at Timescale, I've found something rare: a workplace where technical complexity meets design excellence, where authenticity is celebrated, and where every day brings new opportunities to innovate.
Right after my family, I spend the majority of my time with my colleagues at work. I've been with Timescale for the past 2.5 years, and it's been a dream-come-true scenario in so many ways.
Here, I can be my authentic self and feel completely accepted and appreciated. Having worked in numerous companies, I've never before experienced such a fulfilling professional environment. Looking for challenging work that demands high-quality standards? Check! Need well-defined structure and processes? Check! Want autonomy and freedom to innovate? Check!
And all this while designing for developers who manage databases!
You might raise an eyebrow at that last part. Timescale specializes in PostgreSQL, hypertables, compression, replicas, forking – technical concepts that might seem dry to some. If you're not immersed in this world, you might wonder how this could captivate any designer. I'll admit, I was slightly skeptical at first. But now, I'm completely hooked!
Thank you, Timescale – and I mean every single person here! From my Product Design team to the broader Product & Marketing design team, the Product team, and the entire organization, I've never experienced such genuine appreciation, care, and kindness – without exception.
