Should you trust a chubby personal trainer?

People like taking shortcuts, and believing their own eyes is one of the most ingrained in human nature.

Perhaps, but you certainly shouldn’t dismiss the option of working with them just because of them not being in top shape.

There can be so many reasons for people to decide not to maintain a great physique. Yes, even for personal trainers it can be rough and they just can’t find the time or energy in their lives to commit to that goal. They may also have lived on that side of the spectrum for many years, but decided that now they will appreciate other pleasures in life a bit more. Could be that they just stopped finding joy in seeing their sexy reflection in the mirror, lifting heavy objects or being very disciplined with their diet. Or they might have other, deeper, more serious reasons altogether. Shouldn’t really matter to you.

What you should judge a personal trainer on — or any professional for that matter — is evidence of them being successful in helping clients reach their respective goals in the past. Especially if those clients had goals similar to your present ones. At the end of the day, there always needs to be proof and it needs to be readily available.

On the other hand, if a personal trainer had a well built, able looking body, they would have made it so much easier for you to consider hiring them.
Even then, some actual proof that they know what to do with a client like yourself will be appreciated. But here, seeing is already half-way to believing.

Trust me to know what I’m talking about. But more on that some other time.
